Chetan has 17 years of IT Procurement experience. He has led multiple strategic RFPs in the domains of IT infrastructure, Professional services, Digital, Enterprise applications (CRM, ERP, etc.) and Application management services (Dev-ops) He has worked in various roles like IT Procurement specialist, Software asset manager and Supplier governance within IT procurement. Prior to Vantage Towers, he has worked with Philips, NTT Data, HSBC and Vodafone. Chetan holds an MBA in IT Operations. He is certified in ITIL V4, Six Sigma, Scrum Foundation, Flexera Flexi-Net Manager and a certified Software asset manager. He is passionate about learning new technologies and has a wide range of interests from playing chess to travelling and listening to music.
With 13+ years of expertise in procurement and supply chain management, Zaid has consistently delivered exceptional results across complex, high-value categories in Networks and IT. His career spans strategic roles within Vodafone entities across India, Egypt, and Europe, establishing him as a seasoned professional with a global perspective.
Currently, Zaid leads a high-performing team managing Direct Procurement for critical categories such as Towers, Planning, Civil Works, Acquisition, Field Maintenance, and Energy across eight European markets. This role involves overseeing over €500 million in annual CAPEX and OPEX spend. At Vantage Towers, Zaid was instrumental to design and establish a 50+ member SCM organization, including 20 Shared Service Centre colleagues from initial 5 members. This complex transformation involved hiring and developing talent, adapting to dynamic business needs, addressing early challenges, and refining strategies to build a resilient and efficient supply chain framework.
In his key position, Zaid excels at business partnering with the Vantage Towers management team—including the CEO, CTO, and MDs of individual markets—to jointly design strategies and implement delivery plans across the organization. This close collaboration ensures procurement priorities align seamlessly with the broader organizational goals, driving sustainable value across markets. Today, he directly leads 15 professionals while inspiring and steering the broader team toward operational excellence.
Zaid's achievements include delivering significant procurement savings, driving category strategies, implementing advanced tools and processes, and ensuring contractual compliance as well as driving Gen AI tools leveraging in the SCM function. However, his leadership extends beyond metrics—he prioritizes fostering a cohesive, collaborative, and high-morale SCM team.
Earlier, Zaid held senior procurement roles with Vodafone India Ltd. and Vodafone Shared Services India (VOIS), where he managed procurement for IT and Network categories, including software, hardware, and services, supporting shared service centers across multiple geographies with a combined workforce of 24,000 employees.
